Dr. Tariqullah Khan |
Dr. Tariqullah Khan is currently Senior Economist and Division Chief Islamic Banking and Finance IRTI and Editor of Islamic Economic Studies, IRTI’s biannual Journal. He is also co-leader of the Islamic Financial Industry Development Program of IDB. Before joining IRTI in 1983, he was in the faculty of the Economics Department, Gomal University, Pakistan (1976-81), and International Institute of Islamic Economics, International Islamic University, Pakistan (1981-83), teaching in particular, monetary, development and international economics. He has an M.A. (Economics) degree from the University of Karachi, Pakistan and a PhD. degree from the Loughborough University, United Kingdom. At IRTI, Dr. Khan's research interests have been in the area of theoretical development in Islamic finance and its practical challenges in an international, mixed and competitive environment, financial inclusion, Islamic financial architecture and financial stability.
